The Tarjih Council and Central Executive Tajdid of Muhammadiyah, one of Indonesia’s largest Islamic NGOs, issued a new decree against the use of cryptocurrencies on Tuesday, Cointelegraph reported on January 20.
The decree identified two key issues with cryptocurrencies, declaring them illegal as an investment vehicle and a medium of exchange under Islamic law.
